Meck-SI Moves to Accela
Code Enforcement is pleased to announce that a new special inspections system will soon be ready for use through our Accela portal. We will offer trainings in January.
Here’s what you need to know, as a special inspector who has worked with Mecklenburg County in the past:
If your Designated Special Inspector (DSI) or Authorized Special Inspector (ASI) status with Meck-AI is due for renewal, please do not allow that to lapse. To maintain your active DSI or ASI status, please remit the required payment (typically $225, as described in a letter you should have received from our office) prior to Dec. 31, 2025. In addition to your payment, you must also ensure that all required outside certifications are current for each inspection type or which you wish to be registered.
Your renewal payment must be submitted through our new Accela customer portal. If you have not done so, you should set up an account, which will allow you to make payments online using credit card or check. We have developed a user guide that will walk you through setting up an account.
In January, we will be offering in-person training for customers who will be using Meck-SI through our Accela portal. Please choose from one of the following:
- 8-10 a.m., Wed., Jan. 7, Pine-Fraser Fir Conference Room, 2145 Suttle Avenue, Charlotte
- 8-10 a.m., Wed., Jan. 21, Pine-Fraser Fir Conference Room, 2145 Suttle Avenue, Charlotte
Space is limited. Please register online to reserve your spot.
Currently, the new SI system is live for select projects only. We anticipate Accela becoming the preferred portal for all special inspections projects by Feb. 1st.
